Bojnice castle - Slovakia

Day 1.  Budapest

Arrival to Budapest, transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Budapest.



Day 2.  Budapest

Budapest city tour: Buda castle, Fisherman’s bastion, Citadel, Heroes’ square, City Park with the Vajdahunyad castle, St. Stephen’s basilica, Andrássy street, Fashion street, Váci street – with the most outstanding historic monuments and sights, mentioning only the most popular places. Afternoon visit the fancy New York Cafe, the most beautiful cafe palace in Budapest. In the evening suggested to see the beautiful lighted city! Overnight in Budapest.


Optional program: 1 hour boat tour on the Danube – Budapest by night


Day 3.   Budapest – Bojnice – Ruzomberok

Breakfast at the hotel and then we go to Slovakia. Our first stop will be at Bojnice, near the Nitra river where we admire the wonderful romantic medieval castle, the Bojnice castle. It was built in the 12th century. During the castle visit look around in the natural cave is situated at the foot of the castle hill. The cave also has two ponds, which has a depth of 8-12 m. Afternoon we go to Ruzomberok where the nearby village in Vlkolinec we look at the more than forty original, timbered chalets. One of the most dominant building is the cut wooden belfry was built in 1770. Overnight in Ruzomberok.



Day 4.   Ruzomberok – Oravský Podzámok –  Zakopane  

After breakfast we drive to the north. Our first stop is one of the most attractive tourist attractions in Slovakia the Orava castle. The Orava castle called "Eagle's Nest" also, as it was built on a high cliff above Orava river. The castle was built in the Kingdom of Hungary in the thirteenth century after the Mongol invasion of Hungary of 1241. The castle has three entrance gates and a tunnel where you can find underground corridors network opened to a puclic. There are very popular the organized night ghost towns and various theater performances. From here we drive to Poland, one of the cultural center of Poland, Zakopane. After arrival walking tour: Krupowki street, and if the weather is nice we can go up to the top of Kasprowy (1959 m) by cable car. Exciting ’riding’ to the top of the mountain with a panoramic view. Approx. 1 hour walk along the ridge and then back to the city. Overnight in Zakopane.



Day 5.  Zakopane – Wieliczka - Dunajec/Niedzica castle – Krakow

Breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Wieliczka. We visit a 9-storey Wieliczka Salt Mine, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. Then drive further to the former Hungarian border fortress, the Niedzice castle. Niedzica castle belonged to Hungary until 1918, was located the Polish-Hungarian border line. After a castle visit an exciting approx. 2 hours of floating raft waiting for us on the river Dunajec between wild mountains and beautiful valleys. Late afternoon drive to Krakow. Overnight in Krakow.

Day 6.  Krakow

Krakow is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland, situated on the Vistula River. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland's most important economic hubs. Kraków's historic centre, which includes the Old Town, Kazimierz and the Wawel Castle, was included as the first of its kind on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1978.

After breakfast we go for an all day city tour. Overnight in Krakow.



Day 7.   Krakow – Auschwitz – Krakow

After breakfast we visit to the former concentration camp in Oswiecim (Auschwitz) 64 km from Krakow. Coming back from Auschwitz we take a short detour and visit Wadowice – II. Pope John Paul's hometown and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, was standing under UNESCO protection pilgrimage site. Overnight in Krakow.



Day 8.  Krakow – Budapest

Breakfast at the hotel and drive back to Hungary. Arrive to Budapest in the late afternoon. Overnight in Budapest.



Day 9.   Budapest – Gödöllő

In the morning free time, relax. Afternoon visit Gödöllő, Sissi Palace. Overnight in Budapest.



Day 10.  Budapest

After breakfast transfer to the airport.
